We’re thrilled to partner with Dr. JPop and BeWell for this offering. The practice of yoga can make a meaningful difference in the well-being of our communities. Yoga and mindfulness are deeply transformational practices and should be widely shared beyond the yoga-studio setting because studios are not always accessible to the populations who need yoga the most. This workshop is designed for yoga teachers, educators, therapists, and others who want to share yoga and mindfulness practices beyond the studio setting.
In community-based yoga, there usually aren’t pristine floors, deluxe sound systems or prop walls full of blankets, blocks and bolsters. Community-based wellness classes often take place in libraries, school classrooms, conference rooms, parks, and shared programming spaces. This workshop will inspire and prepare you in making yoga more accessible and more available to under-served and specialized populations. It is designed for those who believe yoga classes should be accessible, culturally competent, welcoming, and enjoyable for ALL bodies, ALL backgrounds and ALL styles of learning.
If you are interested in teaching with BeWell in School, in schools and in the community, this workshop is a required first step. It’s also a great place to expand your toolbox as an educator, counselor, and caregiver, even if you don’t intend on teaching public classes, the information and strategies shared in this workshop will leave you with tangible and practical tools you can implement in your life immediately.
