Yoga teaches us to be proactive, not reactive, and empowers us to be confident and calm. The art of self-defense is not about being the fastest or most athletic person in the room; it's about connecting with your inner strength and maintaining a still mind, and accessing the warrior body in the face of adversity.
Elizabeth, a longtime martial arts instructor and yoga teacher, will guide you through practical, hands-on self-defense techniques. You’ll learn effective ways to carry yourself with confidence, recognize and respond to potential threats, and develop tools to support your personal safety.
While self-defense can be empowering, it can also bring up feelings of fear or heightened vigilance. Feeling safe is also about cultivating a sense of peace within. Therefore, we will conclude with Yoga Nidra meditation/restorative yoga, led by Khrys, offering an opportunity to settle the mind, reconnect with the body, and integrate what you’ve learned. You’ll leave feeling prepared, empowered, and at ease.
